The stone tile backsplash, close up. Four kinds of stone comprise this "meadow mix". What's looking blueish here is a mica slate. The one that tends to green, sometimes with the reddish strokes, is a polished marble. The other two are two varieties of sandstone, one that has fossils of leaves visible on some pieces (not really visible in this photo).
